After a trying day with an ER visit for my 86 year old father, I came home to find my son in bed with a severe headache and extreme sinus pressure.  I called Weis in Clarks Summit at 4:55 p.m., got the answering service and told them I was on my way and rushed to the clinic with my son.  It was just after 5:00 pm and the nurse practitioner at the clinic, Dianne Hickock, waited for us. The day of Hurricane Sandy I drove 40 minute to Careworks in Tannersville from New Jersey where Ken Dotson removed a tick from my back.  He prescribed antibiotics and gave me great information about ticks and bites.  I now refer my neighbors to Careworks and one of them took their daughter to be seen.  The only negative, was I paid my $20 co-pay, but did not receive a recipt. The day before Thanksgiving I had the symptoms of a bladder infection and I knew making an appointment with my PCP was next to impossible.  I did not want to compete with a crowded emergency room, so I went to Careworks in Danville.  I had a wonderful experience.  I did not have to wait to see a medical professional.  My symptoms proved to be an infection and I was on my way to the pharmacy.  I didn’t have trouble finding a parking place either.  (11/27/12)

I visited Careworks Convenient Healthcare when I realized one day at work that I probably had pink eye.  I’d been battling a cold for days and assumed the virus had spread to my eyes.  I hadn’t been to see a primary physician in almost 5 years and have not had a regular doctor since moving out of my parents’ house years ago, but I knew I needed to seek medical treatment now.  I called the Lehigh Valley Health Network and they directed me to Careworks in the Weis Market in Allentown.  When I arrived, there was one patient ahead of me, so I signed in and waited my turn.  Nurse Bier was ready for me shortly.  She was extremely friendly and instantly disarming.  Her attitude immediately made me feel at ease.  She recognized that I had pink eye and that it was likely viral right away.  She then prescribed me some antimicrobial drops and instructed me to see an eye specialist if the pink eye did not clear up in a few days.  I told her I also had a cold and she gave me a thorough exam—checked my temperature, etc.  Based on her findings, she also recommended some OTC drugs, giving me both the brand and generic names for them.  Having Weis Pharmacy right there was convenient.  I’d never been to a walk-in clinic before, and I’ve been talking up my experience there to everyone who’ll listen.  Careworks was definitely there when I needed it.  I would go there again and would recommend it to anyone in need of basic medical care. Excellent!  I am very grateful for Careworks.  I don’t need an appointment.  I do not have to go to the emergency room at the hospital and wait for a long time to get waited on, and then wait a long time for a room, and then wait for a long time for the doctor to show up, and then wait a long time to get discharged.  My regular doctor stopped his practice of removing wax from his patients’ ears.  Thank God Careworks does this procedure.  Anyone that needs this done knows how important it is to have the wax removed as quickly as possible.  I give thumbs up and from a 1 to 10 rating, give Careworks a 10.  The two physicians at the Tannersville location should be commended highly for their professionalism. So my chart was ready when I was called.  All Shara had to do was ask me a few questions and fill out the rest of my chart and take a look at me.  This was quick, painless and my prescription was filled right there at Weis afterwards.  I would definitely go there again. On July 4, I thought I had a sore throat, so I went to Weis in Schnecksville, PA, and bought Benadryl.  I was going to go home and take my medicine.  As I was leaving Weis, I talked to Lisa Wippel.  She looked at my throat and said my throat was closing.  She called Lehigh Valley Hospital ER and said I was coming there.  I was in the hospital 2 days as my throat was almost closed.  Lisa saved my life.  She was so thorough and pleasant to me.  She is dedicated.  I stopped in to see her today and thanked her.  I’m 80 years old.  I live alone and if she wouldn’t have told me to go to the hospital, who knows how I could have reacted at home.  Thank you for having these services at stores near us.  It was Sunday and I couldn’t go to a doctor. Perez  I think Careworks is a great alternative and a very convenient option to calling my family doctor.  What I liked most was being able to do my shopping while waiting for my pager to buzz!  The woman who helped me was very kind and extremely efficient. It was a breeze to then take my prescription next door to the pharmacy.... I got groceries, a check-up and my prescription all in a matter of 30 minutes!  Best one stop shop I ever made! (1/9/09)

I was at the Careworks in Schnecksville by Lisa Wippel for a non-emergency issue, which occurred on a weekend, when my family doctor was unavailable.  I was treated quickly and diagnosed and given a prescription to treat my condition. A very good experience from start to finish.  I will definitely us Careworks again, if the need arises. (1/28/12)

My daughter was sick and it was a Sunday.  Thanks to seeing the flyer at an appointment in Hazleton, we knew about Careworks in Mountain Top.  Instead of driving to Danville to our pediatrician, we drove half the distance to Mountain Top.  We received excellent care and best of all the medical records are linked to all of her specialists in Danville also. (1/29/12)
