After waiting 25 minutes at a walk-in care center, I decided to call Careworks to see if there was a long wait.  Being the mother of a 16-month-old, I don’t have time to be sick or under the weather.  Shara told me there wasn’t a wait, and I told her I’d be there in 5 minutes (I was right up the road).  I did wait about 20 minutes for her to take care of another patient.  In the meantime, I called the hot-line and gave the lady on the phone all of my info. So my chart was ready when I was called.  All Shara had to do was ask me a few questions and fill out the rest of my chart and take a look at me.  This was quick, painless and my prescription was filled right there at Weis afterwards.  I would definitely go there again. I moved to the Poconos Jan. 2008 from Philadelphia, losing my medical coverage.    I hadn’t had blood work since I moved, and I was really anxious to have it done.  I was referred to you by an agency in Stroudsburg not knowing you were part of Geisinger.  I went to the one at Mr. Z’s Tannersville and was very glad I did.  The person there (Kenny) was pleasant, sure of himself, and made me feel relaxed about what he was going to do.  I have running veins and I usually get bruised and it hurts to take my blood.  Not this time!  I really appreciated that.  And, for those who aren’t insured, the price is very affordable.  At this rate I can keep up with this every three months or so like I’m used to doing.  It also allowed me to bring someone else in who doesn’t have coverage.  Thank you, Careworks.  I will be using your services and referring others as best I can. On July 4, I thought I had a sore throat, so I went to Weis in Schnecksville, PA, and bought Benadryl.  I was going to go home and take my medicine.  As I was leaving Weis, I talked to Lisa Wippel.  She looked at my throat and said my throat was closing.  She called Lehigh Valley Hospital ER and said I was coming there.  I was in the hospital 2 days as my throat was almost closed.  Lisa saved my life.  She was so thorough and pleasant to me.  She is dedicated.  I stopped in to see her today and thanked her.  I’m 80 years old.  I live alone and if she wouldn’t have told me to go to the hospital, who knows how I could have reacted at home.  Thank you for having these services at stores near us.  It was Sunday and I couldn’t go to a doctor. I was visiting family in Pennsylvania when I developed symptoms of a urinary tract infection.  My son told me about Careworks and my husband drove me there.  I was seen immediately, treated courteously and professionally and was on my way to the pharmacy 25 minutes later.  The experience was worlds away from an emergency room visit and was perfectly appropriate for my care. I made the right choice going to the Weis Careworks in Schnecksville.  The PA on duty, Jill Holter, saw me almost immediately and quickly made me feel at ease.  She listened to my concerns and worked with me in choosing a medication I could tolerate.  Normally doctors or emergency centers take forever to get help and I find them intimidating.  This Careworks was a very pleasant surprise. On Friday, June 5, I called the doctor's office in the a.m. about my son having an earache.  Finally, after three calls to them and no return call back,  it was now too late in the day for them to see him.  I took my 11 year old to Careworks.  We were seen quickly and it was an extremely thorough check up.  We were explained to that his pain was not from an infection but from pressure from the ear canal.  The visit was an extremely informative visit.  He was prescribed a new allergy medication and a nasal spray.  The PA  was excellent - would like to see her again. I went to Careworks for a very infected stye. Dr. Holter was the most approachable doctor I have ever encountered. Her personality made me feel comfortable enough so my blood pressure wasn’t soaring. She treated the stye proficiently and I’m now back to work. I’m a nationally known artist and I needed to see really quickly. Follow up was just as easy. A simple phone call will allow you to speak to a physician. If I would have called my primary care physician, the chances of her coming on the phone would never have happened.
