DANVILLE, Pa. — Trish Brent, Careworks Convenient Healthcare director, was recently presented with the 2009 Tokar Manager of Distinction Award. Brent is a long-time employee of Geisinger Health System. She began her career as an inpatient floor nurse at Geisinger Medical Center. She also served as an inpatient nurse supervisor and as the director of emergency services, including Life Flight, before entering her current role as director of Careworks Convenient Healthcare.

Several of Brent’s staff members nominated her for the award citing her leadership style, commitment to supporting her team, and caring personality as attributes making Brent deserving of the recognition. The Tokar Manger of Distinction Award was established in memory of Lisa Tokar, former VITALine director who passed away in 2005. Recipients are honored for their outstanding leadership in the Geisinger Community Health Services division.
