Careworks Convenient Healthcare (CareWorks), walk-in healthcare
clinics inside Weis Markets, is now accepting members of HighMark
Blue Shield.
CareWorks, a service of Geisinger Health System in Danville, was
developed in partnership with Weis Markets in Sunbury. CareWorks
clinics offer treatment for many common medical problems including
allergies, minor sprains and strains, flu symptoms and colds,
cholesterol testing and as well as sports and camp physicals.
CareWorks is open everyday with extended weekend and evening hours:
8 a. to 8 pm Monday through Friday, and 10 am to 4 pm
Saturday and Sunday. No appointment is necessary . The clinic is
staffed by board certified and licensed medical professionals, Nurse
Practitioners or Physician Assistants who treat common medical
problems and are able to write prescriptions where medically
appropriate.
CareWorks currently has locations in Clarks Summit, Easton, and
Allentown (Mr. Kings). Two more clinics will open this summer in
Tannersville and Stroudsburg. Services are covered by many health
insurance companies, depending on individual benefit plans. All
costs are substantially less than fees in urgent care centers or
emergency rooms.
