DANVILLE, Pa. — Careworks, walk-in clinics operated by Geisinger Health System, is now a participating provider with First Priority insurance. Nearly 275,000 First Priority members now have in-network access to Careworks clinics inside select Weis Markets.

As a preferred provider, Careworks now accepts BlueCare HMO, BlueCare HMO Plus, Adult Basic or CHIP insurance from First Priority Health, as well as BlueCare Comprehensive, BlueCare EPO, BlueCare PPO, BlueCare QHD PPO, or BlueCare Traditional from First Priority Life Insurance.

Through First Priority, Careworks will be considered a specialist service, requiring specialist level co-pay for an office visit. No referrals will be required for services and no appointment is necessary. Certain restrictions may apply to lab services for individuals with First Priority Health Insurance products.

“This is a big development with a key insurance player in Northeast Pennsylvania,” said Dona Seward, Careworks manager. “We are pleased to be able to offer convenient, affordable healthcare to members of First Priority.”

Careworks clinics have been extremely well-received by patients who need immediate professional treatment for common medical ailments such as cold/flu symptoms, pink eye, strep throat, bladder infections, etc., as well as physicals, immunizations and lab tests. Nurse practitioners and physician assistants who can write prescriptions for common medical problems staff the clinics. Clinics are located in select Weis Markets in Clarks Summit, Tannersville, Stroudsburg, Schnecksville and Allentown.
