DANVILLE, Pa. — Careworks Convenient Healthcare — walk-in medical clinics located inside select Weis Markets — is now accepting AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan. The Medicaid health plan, serving more than 100,000 members in northeast and southcentral Pennsylvania, now provides members with covered access to Careworks clinicians.
Careworks offers services for common medical needs including minor sprains; cold or flu symptoms; strep throat; and physicals, with the exception of Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) developmental physical exams. Immunizations are available for patients age 19 and older. Based on the member’s policy, lab testing is also available.
AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan does not require referrals for treatment at Careworks and no appointment is needed. The convenient walk-in clinic’s nurse practitioners and physician assistants see patients every day, including nights and weekends, and can write prescriptions when medically necessary.
“We are delighted to offer affordable, convenient healthcare to AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan members,” said Dona Seward, Careworks business manager. “Our clinics’ extended hours and walk-in services are a real benefit, especially for busy families.”
Careworks clinics are located in Weis Markets locations in Allentown and Schnecksville.
