DANVILLE, Pa. — Aug. 2 through 6 will mark the first annual National Convenient Care Clinic Week, which recognizes convenient care clinics across the nation that work to improve patient access to quality primary healthcare at an affordable price. These clinics offer an important alternative to emergency room treatment for certain health issues, reducing overcrowding in emergency rooms and improving access to quality, affordable healthcare – one of the central aims of federal healthcare reform legislation.

Geisinger provides convenient care clinics through Careworks clinics in select Weis market locations. Careworks clinics provide convenient, affordable healthcare for adults and children over 12 months old, offering diagnoses and treatments for common medical problems including colds and the flu, allergies, earaches and sinus infections. The clinics also provide immunizations, lab work, screenings and physical exams. Careworks was one of the first convenient care clinic lines in Pennsylvania.
